The Department of Business Economics, shift-I of Shri Krishnaswamy College for women is functioning from the academic year 2012-2013 after the approval of University of Madras with the sanctioned strength of 70 students. The aim of the department is to prepare the students to step into the business sector. It equips students with the analytical and critical thinking abilities necessary to comprehend the functioning of economies, the allocation of resources, and the effects of economic policies on society.
