The Department of B.Com Accounting and Finance was established in the year 2010. It was then a fairly new discipline in commerce stream introduced by the University Of Madras. The program is designed to enhance student’s ability to learn, and provide them with an opportunity to develop network through real-world experiences. The department offers students a perspective on business, providing them with the skills, knowledge and experience needed to pursue a career in either corporate, government or not-for-profit sectors. The Course focuses on accounting system, financial planning, entrepreneurial skills and Income tax knowledge. Students not only learn the fundamental principles of commerce and the latest development in business world, but also get exposed as how to apply this knowledge to contemporary business practices and simultaneously can be thorough in commercial techniques for pursuing higher studies.
